Warm banks of rock worn smooth by time
That hold our sun's gentle release,
And comfort limbs as they recline
Offering perspective and peace.
Floatsom bobs and dips on waves
That roll and peak but never tire.
Strength and beauty, nature saves,
In stores to humble and inspire.
Deep beds of moss grow under shade,
Reserving shapes of their past guests.
Where drying pods and sticks once laid
I sit at peace and feel so blessed.
As long as I can breathe and see
I'll be thankful to simply be.

Around each corner lays a mystery
history has pocked the arch
time's somehow kind to paving stones
that lead one to the park
centuries of travelers
exist in their own minds
but rooftops and the old doorways
only see passers by.
Footsteps trod by families long long long ago
have been retraced by their great kin
as predicted by their old echos.
Flower grow as if it's known their time is to be brief
They celebrate each morning sun with every single leaf.
Seasons pass and so confirm the changes in our lives
To embrace the days you're given shows that you are wise.

sometimes when i go out for dinner
with just my inner child
i think about how it would be
to go back to when i was five
when no one thought to blame me
for my shortcomings
when stupid kid stuff was
instantly forgiven
but then my food gets cold and
i snap back to a reality
that includes thermodynamics and
consequences for grown up choices
where ghosts of decisions born from impatience
not forsight and virtue
dance and tease with the prospect of
waking up on a morning before they came to be
and so i ask unashamedly for
the kiddie crayons and
color to my heart's content
secretly wishing to be told it's all going to be okay

pinstripe beams of sunlight slip between the blinds
and stretch themselves across these walls and watch as i recline
the secret lives of photons
and their families and friends
can at best only be theorized
by which way darkness bends
illuminated particles of once far away stars
now spin and swim and slowly fade like lightning bugs in jars
all this slowly vanishes
as our globe so slowly turns
perhaps they will appear again
as tomorrow's lunch adjourns.

Learn from the tall pines. Yield.
Such strength in flexibility and resilience.
The hard oak loses limbs to the high winds,
while a million needles lolly and glint in the evening's halfsun.
Dancing children unaware of their parents' gentle might.

Relax. For things shall be what they shall be
Accept Things as they are and as they've been
Learn. So life continues as the ever evolving wonder that it is
Love. Love. Love. Because That Is Life's Greatest Gift. Love of ourselves, Love of & with others, Love of Breath, Earth & Everything.
Rejoice. We are Here, We are Alive, We are Loved by so many so strongly and continue to Relax, Accept & Learn.
Live. Our lives are defined outwardly by where we are today, Inwardly by where we are headed and Infinitly by our understanding that we are but part way through what can never be retired.

O thin vale of sanity, discard at once this frail vanity.
Hollowed eyes, deceit and lies cannot disguise your heartless ways.
Attempts to cloak the smoking canopy
Only stoke the coals.
Tricky defense shan't shelter now the guilty from their own blaze.
Purge self from self, in thine int'rest, to mend thy wry filled soul.

Just heard the new 'naked' version of Let it Be. Hope the rest of the album is more significant than that.

Giant asteroid heading towards Earth
Nice knowing y'all. I'll be kissing my butt goodbye while hiding under a polar icecap.
maybe we can BBQ sometime before then. (PHIL)

Soggy bread and salad
Do not a sandwich make.
Please do not force feed me junk,
Don’t bother with the steak.
I seldom seem to gain success
In the fancy pastry arts.
I just end up making a mess
Of flaky crusts and tarts.
Now, toasting 12-grain bread I do
With mixed nut butter spread
I like some jams, but not too sweet
I find the yummy crumbs are neat
But dislike jam stains on my shoe

The chemistry of teabags is a comfort to me

Oolong, herbal, infuse me
With warmth and strength and certainty
_
Sift the flour
Whip the egg
Stir in every grain
Leave no pocket, or air bubbles
Warm Brownies again
More than just a place to cook
A counter plus a breakfast nook
Some people watch and some pitch in
And stay a while in the kitchen
_
Sudsy socks and shirts are spinning
Hand washed plates and pans are dripping
Tulips turn towards the sun
Tiny spider's webs are spun

The light bulb in my fridge just burnt out
It's a medium sized 40-Watt
Standard 60's are all I've got
I'll have to be careful these next few days
Or I'll confuse the yogurt with the mayonnaise
I'm a man
A man with a dark fridge
Just waiting to live
In the light of the day

The break of the morn
The twilight hour

I have eyeballs in my drawer
From a crummy Page-A-Day calendar
It had silly holes in it
And the paper never tore evenly
They wanted me to doodle
They expected me to be there drone
Mindlessly working for their crudy cause
Wasting paper and wasting time
Why can't they leave me alone
Those plastic eyes
Detached from their paper block head
Rolling back and forth alongside rubber bands and hi-liters
I want to throw them away
They have mesmerized me
Here I sit wasting time
Mindlessly typing
